Today
Today is the page you open each morning. It shows the one thing worth doing next, the drafts and ideas waiting for you, what your agents did since yesterday, what is coming up in the next two days and how the last week went. This page explains each part and how to approve, edit or skip a draft.
What Today shows
From top to bottom, Today can show:
- A note. The newest unread notification, slim. The rest are in the notifications panel (the bell in the sidebar).
- Since your last visit. A short line of what changed since you last opened Today for this brand: new drafts waiting, posts published, conversations worth a reply, new ideas from your agents, agents that ran or hit an error, and a warning when your credits are running low. Each part links to where it happened.
- Banners when they apply. Set up Odeist from your website when the brand has no profile yet. An out-of-credits notice when your agents are paused (see Credits and plans). A reminder in the last days of your trial.
- Next. The single most useful thing to do now: review a waiting draft, open an important idea from a growth agent, or follow up on the morning rundown.
- Morning rundown. What your agents did since yesterday. It opens the first time you visit each day and folds into one line after. Ask about it opens Ask Odeist with the rundown attached.
- Status. A line on what your social agents are doing: when the next post is written, and what the last reply run found.
- Needs you. Your queue: drafts to approve and ideas from your growth agents, three at a time. Filter by All, Posts, Replies or Growth ideas.
- Coming up. What is scheduled for today and tomorrow, with Schedule a post and a link to the whole week.
- This week. Posts published, replies posted, reach and engagements over the last seven days, compared with the week before.
- Recent changes. A folded list of recent activity.
With All brands picked in the brand switcher, Needs you shows every brand's drafts, each marked with its brand. Ideas from growth agents show one brand at a time.
Approving a draft
A draft opens in a panel on the right, showing the post as it will look on its platform, with its image. To change the words, click the text and type. To change the image, choose Change image: a new image from a short description, one edit to this image, or your own.
Rewrite with AI changes the words for you. Tap a common change (Shorter, Stronger opening, Less salesy, More casual), or say what to change and choose Rewrite. Undo puts the text back. When what you ask is meant for every post, such as "never use emojis", Odeist AI says it will remember it and adds it to what the agent has learned; choose Don't remember if it was only for this post.
Then:
- Approve. It goes out at the time shown, or right away when the panel says it posts as soon as you approve. Any change you made goes out with it.
- Not this one. Odeist AI asks what's off: Off-topic, Too salesy, Sounds like AI, Wrong facts, Wrong tone, or Something else, where you write what should change. The agent learns from your answer.
A reply draft sometimes arrives without text, when Odeist AI found a conversation but hasn't written the reply yet. Choose Write the reply to have Odeist AI write it, or Write it myself.
Growth ideas
Cards from growth agents (SEO fixes, article drafts, Hacker News comments and so on) sit in the same queue under Growth ideas. Each card has its own buttons, such as Apply or Write an article about it, plus Done when you have handled it and Not now to set it aside. See Growth agents.
Changing when something goes out
A draft's time comes from its agent's schedule, and approving it keeps that time. To change it, use Coming up on Today or Calendar: each entry has Edit post, Reschedule and Discard draft or Cancel post. A draft you reschedule still needs your approval; once approved, it waits for the new time. See Posts and calendar.
When the queue is empty
When nothing is waiting, Needs you says so. Odeist AI tells you when something new arrives, in the app and through the notifications you chose under Settings › Notifications.
