Credits and plans
Odeist AI uses one unit for everything its agents do: credits. Your plan gives you credits every month; top-ups add more when you need them. This page explains what uses credits, when they arrive and expire, the order they are spent in, and what happens when they run out. Current prices and amounts are on the pricing page.
Plans
There are two plans, Solo and Growth, billed monthly or yearly. Yearly billing gives you 2 months free. Each plan sets:
- the credits you get each month,
- how many brands you can have,
- how many seats your team has, counting you,
- how many chat answers a day are included (see below).
Agencies and bigger teams get a Custom plan: any amount a month, at about 160 credits for every dollar ($200 a month for about 32,000 credits), with the brands and seats you need. Choose Talk to us on the pricing page and we set it up.
Accounts without a plan get free credits once, to try Odeist AI. New accounts also start with a free trial that has its own trial credits; they last until the trial ends. Change your plan under Settings › Plan.
What uses credits
Every action has a set cost in credits. A few examples:
- a text post: 5 credits; a post with an AI image: 30,
- a reply: 2,
- an article: 55,
- a Reddit reply card: 10,
- a quick UGC clip: 60; video is priced by the second.
Growth agents' audits, keyword data, AI-answer checks, competitor scans and ad drafts all have their own costs.
Chatting with Odeist, in the app, on WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack, has answers included every day: 50 a day on Solo and 100 on Growth (fewer during the trial; Free has a few a day and then stops). Past them, chatting keeps working and uses credits: a quick answer is 1 credit and a detailed one 10. When there aren't enough credits for the next answer, Odeist AI says so and you can top up or ask again the next day. What it does for you, like writing a post or running an agent, costs what that work costs. Settings › Credits shows what each of your agents uses in a month, posting agents on X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok included. An agent that's off has a switch to turn it on; one that's on has − and + to set how much it does (articles a week, keyword refreshes a month, posts a month), with what that costs under it, like 13 × 55 = 715 credits. It also tells you whether your agents fit in your monthly credits, or how many more they need. An earlier plan priced by licence gives monthly credits for what it costs, and its posting agents spend them like every other agent: there are no licence limits.
When credits arrive
- Plan credits arrive each month while your plan is paid. On a yearly plan they still arrive monthly.
- Top-ups arrive as soon as the payment goes through. Top-ups are for Solo, Growth and Custom; during the trial, choose a plan instead.
Rollover and expiry
- Unused plan credits roll over for 1 month, up to one month's amount. Anything above that expires when the next month's credits arrive.
- Top-up credits never expire.
- Trial credits end with the trial.
- Free credits don't expire.
The order credits are spent in
Odeist AI spends your plan credits first (trial, plan and free credits, the ones that expire soonest first), then top-ups (oldest first). So top-ups, which never expire, are only used once everything else is gone.
Top-ups
Open Settings › Credits and choose Top up. Pick a pack and pay. Top-ups are available from $10. Only the account owner can buy credits; teammates can see the balance but not buy.
Running out
Before an agent runs, Odeist AI checks you have enough credits for it. When you don't:
- Your posting and reply agents and your growth agents pause. Nothing fails; they pick up where they left off when credits come back.
- Today shows a calm notice, Out of credits until a date (when your next credits arrive), with Top up and See plans.
- You get one notification about it a day, not one per agent.
- Ask Odeist still answers your questions, since answers use no credits; actions that need credits wait until they come back.
If a run that had already started costs more than you had left, it finishes, and the difference comes out of your next credits.
Seeing your balance
Settings › Credits shows the credits you have left, what you used since your plan month began, when plan credits renew, your top-up credits, and Recent activity: each run and what it used, plus credits added and expired. Your remaining credits also show in the account menu at the foot of the sidebar.
Invite friends
Under Settings › Invite friends you get an invite link. When a friend joins with it and pays for their first month, you both get credits. These credits last 12 months, and there is one reward per new account; your own accounts don't count.
