Ask Odeist

Ask Odeist is a chat about your marketing. It answers from your own data (what your agents did, your numbers, your plan and what waits for you), remembers what you ask it to, follows skills you add, and can act in Odeist AI for you. Every change it wants to make waits for you to choose Allow. This page covers what it can do, what it remembers, the tools you can connect and what it costs.

Opening it

Choose Ask Odeist in the sidebar (on a phone, in the bottom bar). It opens beside the page you are on and talks about the brand picked in the brand switcher, or about all your brands. You can also open it from the morning rundown on Today with Ask about it, or from some growth agent cards.

Type your question and press Enter; Shift+Enter starts a new line. Attach a card from Today adds a card for context. New conversation starts fresh.

Ask Odeist comes with a plan or the trial.

What it can do in Odeist AI

Some things it reads without asking: the list of your brands and what is waiting today. Changes always wait for you:

  • Leave a post draft in Today for X, LinkedIn or Instagram (nothing is posted).
  • Leave an idea in Today.
  • Run a growth agent now. This uses credits, as Run now does.
  • Mark a growth card done or not now.
  • Approve a post draft, with your edited words if you asked for a change.
  • Schedule a draft for a time you name.
  • Skip a post draft.

When it wants to do one of these, it shows a card, I'd like to do this in Odeist, with what each step sends. Nothing runs until you allow it. Choose Allow or Don't run for each step, then Continue. Approving a draft means it goes out now, or at its scheduled time, so the card says so before you allow it. A request you leave too long expires; just ask again.

Viewers on a team can ask questions but can't use these actions.

Memory

Ask Odeist can remember short facts you tell it, such as "We sell to design agencies". When it keeps something, it says I'll remember under its answer. Manage this under Settings › Ask Odeist, in Memory:

  • Turn Remember what you tell me on or off.
  • Add a fact yourself.
  • Forget one fact, or Forget all.

Memory belongs to your account, not to one brand.

Skills

A skill is a SKILL.md file with instructions for how Odeist AI should work, like your launch checklist. Add one under Settings › Ask Odeist › Skills by pasting the address of the file. It is saved turned off; Odeist AI shows you the whole file to read before you turn it on.

Your own tools (MCP)

The account owner can connect their own MCP servers under Settings › Ask Odeist › Your tools (MCP): a name, the server address and an optional token, which is stored encrypted. Odeist AI lists each server's tools. For each tool you choose Ask me first or Run without asking; running without asking is only offered for tools that only read and don't reach other sites.

Only the owner can add or change these tools, and Odeist AI uses them only when the owner asks.

Use Odeist AI in your AI tools

The same settings page lets the owner make an access token so other AI tools can work with Odeist AI. From there they can leave post drafts and ideas in Today; nothing is posted, approved or deleted that way.

Credits

Each plan includes answers every day, in the app and in the chats below together: 50 a day on Solo and 100 on Growth, fewer during the trial. Inside them an answer uses no credits, even when your balance is at zero. Past them, answers keep coming and use credits: a quick answer is 1 credit and a detailed one 10. When there aren't enough for the next one, Odeist AI says so: top up (or choose a plan, during the trial) or ask again the next day. What Ask Odeist does for you is priced like the same work anywhere else in Odeist AI: writing a post or running an agent uses that post's or that agent's credits, and each action waits for your Allow first.

In WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack

You can also talk to Odeist AI in WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack, and approve drafts there. Connect Telegram under Settings › Notifications with Connect Telegram, then press Start in the Telegram chat that opens; your morning digest arrives there too. See Approve drafts in chat for how chats work.
